Eastern Cape Liquor Board to launch “Anti Pens Down Campaign”

The Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) invites media to the official launch of its
& Anti Pens Down" Campaign, aimed at curbing end-of-term parties involving
underage drinking.
As the end-of-the-year examinations resume, ECLB is extremely worried about the
rapidly growing culture of pens down parties that learners organise upon completion
of the examinations.
ECLB will, therefore, launch an Anti-Pens Down Campaign with a view to
dissuading learners from hosting these extremely risky parties.
The official launch will further be used as a perfect platform to encourage parents
and community members to closely monitor their children during this period and
report any suspicious gatherings to nearest police station or to the ECLB using Toll-
Free: 080 000 0420 or WhatsApp: 076 403 6223.

Anti-Pens Down Parties official launch details are as follows:

Date: 22 October 2025
Venue: KwaNondlwana Methodist Church, NU 8 Mdantsane
Time: 10h00 – 13h00
