National Treasury has established a Central Supplier Database (CSD) for all Government Departments and Public Entities service providers. The CSD is administered by the National Treasury which will also facilitate the verification of supplier information on
Behalf of all Departments and Public Entities.
Service Providers are advised to register on the CSD which will be a prerequisite for doing business with Government in general and with the Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) in particular effectively from 1 April 2016.
ECLB will invite quotations and accept bids only from suppliers that are registered on the Central Supplier Database as from 1 April 2016. Verification of the following key information will also be done through the CSD:
- Business registration, including details of directorship and membership;
- Bank account holder information;
- In the service of the state status;
- Tax compliance status;
- Identity number;
- B-BBEE status level; and
- Tender defaulting and restriction status.

ECLB service providers should submit proof of registration on the CSD with a Supplier Number and Unique registration reference number to Ms. Xoliswa Masakane, the Supply Chain Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to enable compliant procurement processes in line with the National Treasury requirements.
