EASTERN CAPE LIQUOR BOARD TO COMMEMORATE MANDELA MONTH THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE AT MGWALI HIGH SCHOOL

The Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) cordially invites members of the media to attend a Mandela Month community outreach programme to be held at Mgwali High School, Stutterheim, on Friday, 24 July 2026.

As part of the annual Mandela Month commemorations, the Eastern Cape Liquor Board will dedicate its 67 minutes and beyond to giving back to the community by undertaking improvement projects aimed at enhancing the school's learning environment. The initiative will include the painting of school infrastructure and the establishment of a vegetable garden to support the school's nutrition programme and contribute towards food security for learners.

The programme reflects the spirit of Nelson Mandela's legacy by encouraging acts of service, compassion and collective responsibility towards building stronger and healthier communities.

The event will be attended by the Executive Mayor of Amahlathi Local Municipality, the MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT), Hon. Nonkqubela Pieters, the Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Cape Liquor Board, Dr Makala, community leaders, educators, learners and other stakeholders.
