EASTERN CAPE LIQUOR TO HOST COMMUNITY OUTREACH ON LICENSING PROCESS AND RESPONSIBLE LIQUOR TRADING IN ALIWAL NORTH

Eastern Cape Liquor Board will conduct a community outreach in Aliwal North with a view to educate the community about the licensing processes and the role of community in the issuing of a liquor license. The message of the day will also incorporate the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption.

The area is experiencing high rate of alcohol abuse, and in some instances irresponsible trading.

The community Imbizo will provide opportunity for ECLB to share its services and further engage the community on dangers of alcohol abuse. The theme of the event is “taking action against alcohol abuse and irresponsible trading”.

Various stakeholders have been invited to the event, and they include Social Development, DTI, SASSA, Liquor Traders and Council of Churches.
