EASTERN CAPE LIQUOR BOARD TO HOST ANTI-ALCOHOL ABUSE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AT MVEZO GREAT PLACE.

Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) in partnership with the South African Breweries (SAB) will host a community outreach campaign focusing on anti-alcohol abuse and responsible trading.
Following Chief Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela’s concern on the increasing cases of inconsiderate trading and irresponsible consumption of alcohol in his area, ECLB decided to conduct this awareness. The area is reportedly engulfed in considerably high levels of reckless trading among liquor traders, which, invariably results in excessive consumption of alcohol, and some criminal activities.
As part of the programme ECLB and SAB, led by Chief Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela, will make an unannounced visit to some liquor outlets in the area to check their conditions and whether they comply with their trading conditions.
This campaign coincides will the beginning of the Festive and the Circumcision seasons, which are both characterised by the multiplicity of social ills that are associated with the reckless use of alcohol. ECLB will utilise this campaign as a platform to intensify its messaging on responsible consumption of alcohol, especially during this period.
Traditional leaders from the surrounding jurisdictions have been invited to grace the event.

Media is therefore invited to this significant campaign, which is scheduled to take place as follows:

Time : 08h00
Venue : Mvezo Great Place
Date : 25 November 2016
