To: All media
For Immediate release
22 JUNE 2018
As part of its Youth Month Commemoration, Eastern Cape Liquor Board will conduct a roadshow in Middleburg with a view to educate community, particularly young people about dangers of excessive consumption of alcohol. The area has recently been notorious for the rise in concoction trade which has adversely impacted health of the people, especially young people. Recent SABC report on the extent of the use of home brewed alcohol has shown that the area is experiencing the rapid mushrooming of the illegal brewing of alcohol.
Department of Trade and Industry and other government departments such as Health, NPA, Social Development and council of Churches will collaborate with the Board in conveying the message to the young people and the community members (including liquor traders).
In an endeavour to alleviate the scourge of excessive consumption of alcohol especially among young people, including the illegal production of home-brewed alcohol, Eastern Cape Liquor Board will conduct the Roadshow as follows:
Date: 22 June 2018
Venue: Lusaka Playing Fields
Time: 09:00 am
Media is therefore cordially invited to this Roadshow and be part of the fight against the abuse of alcohol.
