1. Government has issued regulations which are only specific to the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality as it is regarded as Hotspot for the COVID – 19 pandemic.
2. The Eastern Cape Liquor Board hereby notifies licence holders of what is meant for the categories of licence held.
3. OFF CONSUMPTION licence holders such as bottle stores and chain store retailers are ONLY permitted to sell liquor from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 18:00 pm.
3.1.1 No sale of liquor is allowed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
3.1.2 Health protocols such as wearing of masks, sanitising and maintaining of 1.5 social distancing by employees and customers must be observed.
4. ON CONSUMPTION licence holders are permitted to sell liquor according to the trading conditions EXCEPT
4.1 The curfew applies in that all persons MUST be at home by 22:00 pm. This includes all persons who work at the outlet.
4.2 Every person at the outlet including employees MUST
4.2.1 wear a face mask
4.2.2 sanitise
4.2.3 maintain a social distance of 1.5 metres from each other.
4.3 The number of guests/patrons allowed in an outlet cannot exceed more than 50 percent of the
capacity of the outlet/ venue.
5. ON AND OFF CONSUMPTION licence holders:
5.1 If you are selling OFF CONSUMPTION (“Takeaways”) you can only sell from Monday to Thursday
from 10:00 am to 18:00pm. No takeaways can be sold on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
5.2 You can sell liquor ON CONSUMPTION as per normal trading conditions EXCEPT
5.2.1 the curfew applies in that all persons MUST be at home by 22:00 pm. This includes all persons who work at the outlet.
5.2.2 Every person at the outlet including employees MUST
5.2.2.1 wear a face mask
5.2.2.2 sanitise
5.2.2.3 maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from each other.
5.2.3 The number of guests/patrons allowed in an outlet cannot exceed more than 50 percent of the capacity of the outlet/ venue
