EASTERN CAPE LIQUOR BOARD HEIGHTENS ITS FIGHT AGAINST THE FEOTAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME

Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) in partnership with Ndlambe Local Municipality will host a community outreach session as part of the fight against the Foetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) at Port Alfred in Ndlambe local municipality.

This is part of the ECLB’s Women’s Month programme that seeks to intensify education on the dangers of the FAS, which is a condition that occurs when a woman consumes alcohol during pregnancy and gives birth to a baby with various forms of disability. The area of Ndlambe Local Municipality is experiencing high rate of alcohol abuse particularly among women, which is a recipe for the escalation of the FAS cases. The aim of the community outreach aims to educate communities about the dangers of the FAS.

Media is, therefore, cordially invited to be part of the community outreach, whose details are as follows:
Date: 23 August 2019
Time: 10:00 – 13:00
Venue: Nokukhanya Community hall, Barthust
